Career Aspirations.

My personal Aims and ambitions are to :
1) Gain a work placement in 2012.
2)By 2013 Complete my course at Birmingham City University.
3) By 2016, succesfully gained employment in the media, in television, or radio.
4)By 2018, I would like to have written, shot and succesfully completed a 10 minute short film.

My professional development over the past three years has been remarkable. I have been able to really apply myself, and I am involved in a show on Scratch Radio, which is Birmingham City University's Student Radio station, on Scratch Sport. I have also undertaken a work placement at BBCWM. I learned many skills there, which I have taken forward into both my show, and my course at BCU to further my professional development. During 2012, I aim to undertake a fund raising programme, to raise money for a charity that aids children in playing Snooker. It is called the Paul Hunter Foundation. As I have a big interest in Sport, and giving to Charity when I can, this would be an immense achievement if I can mange to fundraise through the radio, or television. Without any of this knowledge and experience, I wouldn't be able to tackle the second goal on my list as easily.

I am able to evaluate on my personal and professional development during and after submitting assignments in education, and while completing personal projects, I can evaluate the problems I had, and how I would avoid them in the future. This is often a key part of doing a practical assignment, and it really helps me to know what I struggle with, so I can make more of an effort in future projects to improve in that area, while improving in my strong areas as well. My strengths are producing, Directing, and creating schedules in Pre Production. When gaining employment, this would see me as a producer, as I have the most experience in this area, and one in which I feel that I can excel in in group work. According to Belbin, the role that is better suited to me, is that of a Shaper, which make the difficult decisions, and aren't afraid to make them. I have never been scared to make decisions for the good of a production and will often push to get things done, when sometimes it might look like it's a difficult task.

As part of my hobbies, I like to watch films, and one of my favourites ,was Senna. I have reviewed this film here.
Senna

To me, it's really important that Films are based on reality, like reading an autobiography of a celebrity, it's vitally important the film, is done in the right manner, which this was, and it is my belief, that it should have been more successful at film award ceremonies. As award ceremonies are still happening, it could still win more awards, and it is this, which is an issue of debate at the time of writing.

Occasionally, I also review the latest films or games releases, and have recently began to do this by way of a series of You tube Videos which is still in its infancy of production.
